Madonna sent to the intensive care unit after being discovered unresponsive

Pop Star Madonna was rushed to a New York City hospital after being found unresponsive. According to reports the singer was put in ICU and intubated for at least one night before the tube was removed and is now alert and recovering, according to Page Six.

On Saturday the 64-year-old developed a “serious bacterial infection,” according to her manager which “caused her to pause all commitments.”

The singer manager, Guy Oseary, said in a statement: “On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU.

“Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.

“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.

“We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

Based on reports, Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon was with her mother throughout the ordeal.

The singer was forced to cancel her shows. She was set to kick start her North America leg of her 40th Celebration of her music career, The Celebration World Tour, in Vancouver, Canada on 15th July.

She was also set to perform at two shows in Madison Square Garden in New York in August, along with Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas and Chicago.
