Ayanda Thabethe stunning in her Miss Supranational costume

Ayanda Thabethe, the Miss South Africa (Miss SA) 2022 runner-up, has been giving beauty looks upon beauty looks recently. She has just shown off her Miss Supranational national costume, which was inspired by the ocean.

The KwaZulu-Natal born model is in Poland at the moment, where she will compete in the pageant finals on Friday the 14th of July. Currently, fellow South African Lalela Mswane is the reigning Miss Supranational.

Taking to their social media, Miss SA organisers revealed Ayanda Thabethe’s national costume. The runner-up representing SA at Miss Supranational wore a custom blue creation by designer Juan Visser.

The caption on the post said: “Inspired by the beautiful body of water surrounding South Africa. Ayanda Thabethe feels spiritually connected to any body of water. Water, in all its glory, is considered a purifier of the soul. As a symbol of life, water represents divine generosity. While personifying healing and suffering, protection and vulnerability, change and consistency, stillness and rage”.

It was earlier this week when Ayanda revealed her prelimary gown, also designed by Visser. The designer said when Ayanda walked in the turquoise gown, they achieved the effect of crashing ocean waves. “Our main goal with both the gowns was to be daring, bold and, most importantly, impactful.” – he added.

The stunning blue gown was given a thumbs up from the public, including the current Miss Supranational Lalela Mswane, who commented with several “fire” emojis. Former Miss Universe Zozi Tunzi also seemed to like the dress as she commented: “Gorgeous, gorgeous girl.”

The Miss Supranational pageant is set take place on Friday evening at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheatre in Nowy SÄ…cz, Poland.
