Reports have revealed that LeBron James’ eldest son, Bronny James, was recently rushed to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest during a USC college workout session.
TMZ says the 911 call for the 18-year-old James was made at 9:26 AM Monday from USC’s Galen Center, which is the venue where the team plays and practices. The player is said to have been unconscious after he collapsed during an on-court practice session, then he was rushed by ambulance to the hospital.
The incident is said to have been deemed a Code 3, which means that the ambulance had lights and sirens signifying the seriousness of the emergency.
A spokesperson from the James family confirmed Bronny’s condition in a released statement, thanking the medical staff for treating their son and asked for privacy while they navigate their way through this difficult time.
The statement read: “Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.”
It continued to say: “Savannah and LeBron James wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
Bronny is a hot rising star in his sport right now, and he recently committed to the Trojans and is expected to end up in the NBA. He was an All-American during his high school senior season and his father, LeBron has also mentioned that his desire is to play alongside his son in the League.
