Joseph Shabalala documentary coming our screens soon

The legendary South African artist, and founder of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Joseph Shabalala’s a heart-warming documentary is coming to our TV screens soon.

Titled ‘Music is My Life – The Story of Joseph Shabalala‘, according to FilmOptionInternational, the documentary will soon be lighting up our living rooms and it will be playing for two hours. It was filmed over a span of five years.

The show will be a portrayal of the man who captivated the world with his legendary group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Joseph Shabalala’s journey is a tale of talent, passion, and perseverance that touched the souls of millions.

He made a remarkable contribution to Paul Simon’s ground-breaking ‘Graceland‘ album, and his music became a bridge between cultures. Directed by the exceptionally talented Mpumi Supa Mbele, this documentary promises to be a visual masterpiece.

This documentary will not just be a glimpse into Shabalala’s public life but a profound exploration of his personal struggles and triumphs. It will be including exclusive interviews, rare footage, and heart-warming anecdotes from those who knew him best.

‘Music is My Life – The Story of Joseph Shabalala‘ is set to air on SABC1 on Monday, 28 August, at 21:00.
