Thuso Mbedu To Serve As One Of The Judges For Miss SA

Actor and L’Oréal Paris brand ambassador and spokesperson, Thuso Mbedu joins the judging panel of Miss South Africa 2023.  The Miss SA Organisation announced the news. The Miss SA Finale will take place at Sun International’s flagship venue, SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria on Sunday 13th August.

A press statement reads, “Mbedu, in her role as judge, will bring her unique perspective and experiences to the competition, encouraging the contestants to embrace their individuality and walk confidently. Her presence will inspire the finalists to focus not only on their external beauty but also on their inner strength and resilience.”

The Woman King actor joining Miss SA judges was announced by L’Oréal Paris skin and hair marketing manager Ayanda MacKay, “We are honoured to have the L’Oréal Paris Sub-Saharan ambassador Thuso Mbedu join the Miss South Africa 2023 judging panel,” she shared. “This partnership allows us to support and uplift women as they redefine what it means to be a beauty queen.”

“We believe that when women are empowered, they can achieve anything they set their minds to, and we are thrilled to be part of this incredible platform,” MacKay added.

Media Personality Bonang Matheba also announced that she will be back as Miss SA Finale 2023 host.

Matheba took to her Instagram to announce the news, “Excited to return as host of the Miss South Africa Finale… Live from the SunBet Arena, Pretoria. Join us THIS Sunday at 18:30 on SABC 3!!❤???????? @houseofbng @official_misssa @sabc3 #MissSA2023 #Host #CrownChasers #southafrica” she captioned the video post.

According to a press release, Bonang said, “The Miss South Africa pageant is one of the biggest television productions in the country, so I am very excited to be hosting the show for a third time. It is an institution in South Africa and I am honoured. I remember gathering around the television when I was growing up and watching people like Basetsana Kumalo and Peggy Sue Khumalo taking the title; I remember where I was.”

 “To grow from a judge to a host and one of the sponsors of this event is an absolute honour. I love that I can showcase my talent and be part of it. The fact that is airing on the SABC means that it is accessible to all people and that’s very important to me,” she continued.
