The buzz around 14-year-old Charlie Woods suggests he’s following in the exciting footsteps of his legendary father, golf superstar Tiger Woods. The dynamic duo recently participated in the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Fla., finishing tied for fifth behind Team Langer, the eventual winners.
A standout moment came on the ninth hole of the final round when Charlie went viral for chipping in a birdie from the green, mimicking his father’s signature fist pump celebration. Tiger, visibly thrilled, joined the applause from the crowd.

Charlie isn’t new to the spotlight. Initially a soccer player, he turned his focus to golf during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Just last month, Charlie secured the Florida High School Athletic Association Class A state championship with The Benjamin School Buccaneers, marking an achievement even Tiger did not attain in his illustrious career.
Reflecting on his win, Charlie humorously remarked, “Having a win over him and having something he doesn’t, it feels pretty good.” Notably, Tiger had caddied for Charlie in September during the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship regional qualifying tournament, where Charlie’s impressive performance included a career-best 66.
The PNC Championship holds sentimental value for the Woods family, as Tiger played alongside Charlie in 2021. This event marked Tiger’s return to competitive golf after a near-fatal car crash earlier that year. Despite riding a cart for most of the tournament, Tiger shared a touching moment, walking with his son up to hole 18.

The father-son duo showcased their prowess, achieving 11 consecutive birdies in their last 12 holes during that championship. Although they finished second, losing to John Daly and his son, it was their best result since teaming up in 2020.
Born on Feb. 8, 2009, Charlie Axel Woods is Tiger’s youngest child with his former wife, Elin Nordegren. With an older sister, Sam, who caddied for Tiger in this year’s PNC Championship, Charlie continues to make waves in the golf world, carving out his own impressive legacy.
