Kenyan media personality Elsa Majimbo recently discussed her complicated relationship with British supermodel Naomi Campbell. In a TikTok video that has since been deleted, Elsa recounted the story of their meeting, how their friendship developed, and ultimately, what led to their falling out.
According to Elsa, she and Naomi began following each other on social media in 2020, with Elsa considering Naomi her role model. When Naomi visited Nairobi, Elsa reached out, and they met up. Naomi even took Elsa shopping and invited her on vacation.
During their vacation, Naomi suggested Elsa create a documentary about her life in Kenya and her journey to Hollywood. However, things took a turn when Elsa made a documentary about her experiences with discrimination without informing Naomi. This led to a phone call where Naomi expressed her disappointment, feeling excluded from Elsa’s projects.
Despite attempts to explain, their relationship deteriorated, with Naomi becoming increasingly hostile. Elsa later realized that her fallout with Naomi might have contributed to her being marginalized in the fashion industry.
Discussing the situation was difficult for Elsa, but she shared her desire to take control of her narrative. She also revealed how the fallout affected her mental health, leading to depression and alcoholism at a young age. Elsa now aims to heal and find happiness.
