Nicki Minaj Arrested in Amsterdam Before Manchester Performance

While everyone else is trying to have a chilled Saturday evening, drama is unfolding in the Netherlands as American rapper, Nicki Minaj has been arrested.

The music star detained at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands just hours before she was scheduled to perform at Co-op Live in Manchester for possession of soft drugs. In a series of social media posts on X (Twitter) and Instagram, Minaj claimed that customs officials discovered drugs in her luggage during a routine check.

Clearly frustrated, Nicki Minaj posted on X saying “they said they found weed.” She also alleged that her luggage was taken without her consent and accused authorities of trying to prevent her from traveling to Manchester. In one of her posts, she pointed out the irony by saying, “This is Amsterdam btw, where weed is legal.”

The rapper also shared a video that seemed to show an airport official requesting a luggage inspection.

Minaj later elaborated, “It’s a 45 minute to an hour flight. So they’re probably trying to stall for about 4 hours.” She added that she was required to go to a nearby police precinct to make a statement about her security, further delaying her journey.

Since her last post on X, Minaj has not provided any updates.
