Fresh off their recent appearance at Coachella 2024, where they joined Doja Cat on the main stage for her headline performances, South African vocal group The Joy has released their latest track, ‘Bayang’khethela.’ This single is part of their forthcoming self-titled debut album, set to be released on June 21, 2024, through Transgressive Records.
After their standout Coachella performance, Doja Cat released three tracks featuring The Joy on digital streaming platforms (DSPs) as part of her expanded digital album, Scarlet 2 CLAUDE, last Friday. The tracks—’ACKNOWLEDGE ME,’ ‘DISRESPECTFUL,’ and ‘Shutcho’—feature The Joy’s lead vocals and have been re-imagined with Zulu lyrics.
‘Bayang’khethela’ is accompanied by a performance video filmed by Up The Game, the creative team behind Liam Gallagher: Knebworth 22 and Tonight with: Arlo Parks. The video captures the live recording session of the album at the renowned Church Studios in Crouch End, London.
