SA Wins Bangladesh Cricket Test

The south African Proteas beat Bangladesh by seven wickets earlier today, with fast bowler Kagiso Rabada claiming a ten wicket haul to destroy the Bangladeshi batting line-up.

The South Africans were left with only a 106 run target in their second innings after a Bangladesh had scored 106 and 307 runs in their innings.

South Africa had scored 308 in their first innings with wicket keeper Kyle Verreynne, showing his class with the bat, scoring a 114, including 10 boundaries. His ton plus two catches and a stumping, earning him the man of the match award.

It was a really good innings by Verreyne and will hopefully spark his growth as a mid-order batsmen in the Protea’s ranks.

Kagiso Rabada was certainly the other major contributor in the fantastic winning performance and apart from his 300 wicket (now 306 wickets) record, he has lifted his performance to the next level.

While the 5-day test format has lost favour with many cricket fans, it is still the ultimate true test of cricketers and those that are in the game acknowledge this. The new 5-day test resilience, displayed by this Protea squad, is something that has been lacking for a while and it sets a great foundation for future test success.
