Women’s T20 World Cup Cricket Semi Final’s Preview

The Four semi-finalists in the Women’s T20 World Cup are South Africa, Australia, the West Indies and New Zealand, who will be playing their semi-final matches in Dubai tomorrow (17 Oct) and on Friday (18 Oct).

The West Indies’ had a sensational win over a stunned England yesterday, with the opening batting pair of Haley Mathews(captain) and a superb Qiana Joseph, setting up a huge opening partnership of 102, for the historic win. England had set a low target of 142 after they had a key batter, retire injured and several players failing to make double figures. Hayley Matthews commented, that her team are coming into form at precisely the right moment and they certainly look like a team that will pose questions to the New Zealand team when they meet on Friday.

England are the only squad in the T20, to win three out of their four group matches and not proceed to the semi-finals due to a low run rate.

South Africa, after a clear win over Bangladesh, that saw them progress to the semi’s will meet a talented Australian team and current world champions title holder, in what is likely to be a fiercely contested match tomorrow.

The semi-final winners will then meet in the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium from 6:00pm local time on Sunday 20 October.

The winners of Sunday’s final match will be receiving the biggest winners purse in the history of the tournament, and with all four semi-finalists also in line for big pay boosts compared to previous World Cup tournaments.
