It has been eight months since the former Miss SA Kerishnie Naicker experienced a life-threatening accident that nearly cost her both legs.
In May 2024, she was seriously injured in Cape Town, following what she described as a “freak accident” while taking photographs near the lighthouse at Cape Point.
Despite the traumatic event, she has made significant strides in her recovery, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring.
Now, eight months later, she has shared a hopeful update with her followers.
In a heartfelt video posted to her Instagram account, she can be seen walking on the beach, taking cautious but steady steps.
The accident occurred when the beauty queen was accidentally tripped by a tourist while descending the stairs from the lighthouse.
As the tourist attempted to focus on the view, they took a step too far, causing the former Miss SA to fall and tumble down two steps.
While the fall could have been much worse, she expressed deep gratitude for not sustaining a head injury.
Kerishnie Naicker made history in 1997 when she became the first South African of Indian descent to win the coveted Miss South Africa title.
