Weekend Premier League Preview

Just when Liverpool seemed to have wrapped-up the PSL league for the season, their draw against a lively Everton squad this week means the season is not cut and dried yet. They still lead the table by seven points on 57, with closest rivals Arsenal in second spot on 50 points with 13 game weeks remaining in the season.

Pressure Mounting on Reds

While both Liverpool, who face Wolves at home on Sunday and Arsenal who will meet Leicester away, would fancy their chances against two struggling teams, the next week will see Liverpool playing away at Villa mid-week as well as an away game against Manchester City on the weekend.

The added pressure on Liverpool is the two week field ban placed on head coach Arne Slot who was dished out a red card after a confrontation with match officials at Everton during the week. Slot has said he should have acted differently in the aftermath of a stormy Merseyside derby which led to him being given a red card by referee Michael Oliver, but will not be field side for their critical clash with City next weekend.

Gunners Looking for Title Gap

Arsenal must be looking at the log and calculating their chances of catching the Reds before season end, with Wednesday’s draw just opening up a slim chance for them.

The gunners have finished in second place for the past two seasons, must be thinking that perhaps this could still be their season to have.

Spurs Coach Could Exit Soon

Manchester United meet with a struggling Spurs squad on Sunday evening in a match that could well determine if Spurs coach, Ange Postecoglou, remains at the club or gets shown the door. Spurs has hit a terrible run of form with elimination from the League Cup and the FA Cup in the space of only four days last week.

The disastrous form has seen Spurs with only two wins in their last ten matches and this weekends clash may well see Ange depart from White Heart Lane permanently.

Tonight will see Brighton hosting Chelsea and will be hoping to upturn their three game loosing streak against Chelsea and return to the form that saw them beat the blues for five consecutive matches before the loosing streak kicked in. The play tonight at 22H00 Central African Time.
