Caxton Publications has announced it will stop publishing. That’s after initially announcing it was closing its magazine division.The group says there’s been a steady decline in advertising and circulation numbers for its publications.
The negative impact of COVID-19 has resulted in even fewer advertisers coming on board. Caxton publishes magazines such as the iconic Bona, Food & Home,Your Family, Garden & Home and People among others. The group says it will start consulting procedures with employees. President Cyril Ramaphosa says the worst is yet to come regarding the spread of COVID-19. The president does, however, believe that there are structures and facilities in place to deal with the pandemic. Ramaphosa is in Kwazulu-Natal to assess the province’s response to COVID-19.
He is also expected to inspect several quarantine facilities on Tuesday afternoon. I am afraid that we have to plan for the worst and we have been informed that the worst is still coming.
