Lerato Mvelase (née Moloisane; born on 7 September 1982 in Soweto) is a renowned South African actress and television presenter.
She walked into the spotlight upon playing the role of Katlego in Home Affairs, an SABC1 drama series. She appeared in the series from 2005 to 2009.

The actress and singer revealed that she was undergoing training to be a traditional healer in 2018.
According to TimesLIVE, it had affected her children who struggled the first few months she was not around.
She underwent a six-month training away from her family in 2015. Lerato, who is a practicing traditional healer, shared her experience with Metro FM’s DJ Fresh.
“It was very hard on my kids. I mean my kids sleep with me, even today. So for them to wake up and mommy isn’t there…
“It was very hard for my kids after six months of me being away but kids are very understanding actually. We don’t give them enough credit.”

She and Siyabonga Radebe were into a relationship until things went wrong. The couple had to go their separate ways after having a love affair even though they had a child together.
Her boyfriend was cheating on her, with hurt feelings she decided to end the relationship.

Career
In 2011 she landed a starring role as Princess in Home Sweet Home, an SABC2 sitcom. The character is a responsible, intelligent, attractive, ambitious, somewhat obsessive-compulsive security guard.
Still in the same year, Lerato landed another starring role as Yoliswa in Shreds and Dreams, an SABC1 mini-series.
The actress made her debut acting appearance in a cameo role Backstage, an etv soapie in 2003.
Following her outstanding performance in the show, she landed another role as Mbali in the first season of Mzansi, an SABC1 drama series, in 2004. The character is a young college design student
She couldn’t continue playing the role of Mbali in the second season because of her presenting job on Mindset Educational TV.
Lerato landed a lead role as Katlego in Home Affairs in 2005. She speaks five languages including English, South Sotho, Tswana, Zulu, and Xhosa.
She replaced Joel Zuma as the host of the e.tv docu-reality series Kaelo – Stories of Hope in the 9th season of the show in 2013.
She landed a starring role as Dipuo Nuru in Theola, an SABC2 thriller series. Lerato also featured as a guest star actress on The Road, an Mzansi Magic telenovela in 2015.
Lerato also played a recurring role as Lt. Samkelo Mkhize on isiBaya, an Mzansi Magic soapie isiBaya. She appeared first in Season 4, Episode 121 in August 2016.
