The Department of Health announced an increase of 13,674 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 238,339.
The department congratulated South African laboratory services for completing over 2 million tests.
Countrywide, 2,000,569 people have now been tested. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths now stand at 3,720.
One person from Northern Cape has died, 26 from KwaZulu-Natal, 28 from Eastern Cape, 37 from Gauteng and 37 from Western Cape.
The department corrected the current total deaths in Limpopo to 33 (not 44 as reported on Thursday).
The error was a data interpretation error that has been corrected. Reallocation has since been done and they have confirmed the current total with the province.
The number of recoveries is 113,061 which translates to a recovery rate of 47,4 percent.
