Kaizer Chiefs and coach Molefi Ntseki have officially parted ways.

Coach Ntseki Molefi’s exit comes just hours after Chiefs lost to AmaZulu in the last 16 of the Carling Knockout Cup at the FNB Stadium over the weekend.

The reigns will now go to Calvin Johnson who joined Chiefs as Head of the Youth Development Academy on an interim basis.

Chiefs took one knock after another which added to a long streak of defeats under Ntseki’s leadership.

The club said a meeting was held with Ntseki after the 1-0 loss to AmaZulu over the weekend.

“Following a meeting on Monday morning, Molefi Ntseki’s tenure as head coach of Kaizer Chiefs has ended amicably by mutual consent,” said the club.

Dillon Sheppard will regain his position as assistant coach of the club while Arthur Zwane returns to his former role within the development structures.

Ntseki joined Chiefs in June 2021 as head of technical and youth development. He led the team in a total of nine league games, won three, drew two and lost the other four.

Ntseki led Chiefs to the MTN8 semi-final just before they suffered a defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
