We have an exciting position for a Driver to assist with the installation, shifting and moving of equipment as required or instructed to achieve operational targets
Job Description
We are currently seeking for a Driver to join our Kumba Iron Ore family. This role will require you to assist in the safe loading, moving and shifting of equipment and/or components as instructed in such a manner as to prevent any damage to assets or injury to people. This role requires you to report equipment and component deviations to the Supervisor to ensure defects are followed up and attended to. Also, you will ensure all equipment is available at the commencement of the shift and inspect all equipment for functionality and safety before commencing with the task to prevent damage and injury and to adhere to required safety standards.
This role requires you to ensure correct lifting equipment and tools are selected when executing a task in order to comply with the necessary procedures, specifications, requirements, timeframe and budgetary limits. Your responsibility will be to liaise with relevant personnel to arrange assistance regarding resources required (both equipment and people) to ensure successful task execution. You will also need to provide assistance according to own level/area of competence and in accordance with company policies to the Supervisor and co-workers when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person, to ensure achievement of functional objectives and adhere to all health and safety practices, requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment. This role is at the Engineering Department at a J5 level reporting to the Supervisor.
Qualifications
You are required to have a Grade 12 or Technical Matric, 5 years’ experience in Driving of Buses or 26-90-ton Trucks, valid driver’s license Code EC (heavy vehicle) with PDP and other licenses – high up will be advantageous.
