SA records 312 new COVID-19 deaths

Two-thirds of the COVID-19 related deaths reported in the last 24 hours are from Gauteng. The death toll in the province has now jumped by 60 percent in the last seven
Countrywide, 312 patients died since the last report from the health department.

Of those, 209 people died in Gauteng, 44 in the Eastern Cape, 37 in KwaZulu-Natal, 18 in the Western Cape and four in the Northern Cape.

This brings the national death toll to 6,655. The good news is that South Africa’s recovery rate is now over 60 percent.

This means six out of every ten people who tested positive for coronavirus have already recovered.
