[SEE] Talented artist surprises Somizi with a denim jacket of Mary Twala and ‘Mshefane’s’ portrait

The power of social media has once again came through for the upcoming talents! While Somizi was busy browsing through his feeds on Twitter, a portrait of his mother and father done by a user captured his heart.

Without any doubt, judging from the painting itself, one can easily tell that South Africa is talented,

Somizi was so touched by the painting, he decided to track down the artist who made it and gave him a deal we personally wouldn’t refuse!

The Idols judge bumped into the painting of his mother on Twitter and he immediately tasked the artist to actually make a portrait of his parent on his denim jacket instead.

The television personality indicated that he had planned to wear the jacket at his mother’s funeral but it did not materialise of time.

Mhlongo took it to Instagram to give a vote of thanks to the young man and said that he also paid him for his wonderful job.

So when I saw a painting of my mom on twitter by this young man @olwethudahandsome ines immediately drawn to it……and that's when I had an idea of him making a portrait of my parents on a denim jacket. I'm initially i wanted to wear it at my mom's funeral but because he is based in cape town time was not on our side…..but I still insisted that he makes it…..through the help of my PA @iam_sphekay he was able to track him and found him and gave him the brief…..oh boy did he deliver……when the parcel arrived today I was wondering why is it in a big box kanti this sweet talented young man added an actual framed portrait of my mom and as a surprise gift…coz I only paid for the jacket and the drawing on it…..thank u young man and may all yo dreams come true…..I'm probably gonna wear this once and frame it as well….ANDIHAMBI NDODWA…….MSHEFI AND MAMPINGA GOT MY BACK

It was not immediately clear how much Somizi paid the Capetown based artist. Mary Twala succumbed to diabetes in Johannesburg at the age of 80 and was laid to rest in Soweto.
