Civil society organisations call for action against COVID-19 corruption

Civil society organisations are calling for a nationwide weekend of action against COVID-19 corruption.

They include the South African Council of Churches, Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the Foundation for Human Rights and the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution.

The organisations say Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) tender corruption can’t be tolerated.

Covid-19

They want the weekend of 21 to 23 August to be set aside for the call to action.

The campaign will kick-start a series of activities against COVID-19 corruption.
