The Health Department reported 188 more COVID-19 deaths in South Africa, taking the death toll 16,586.
Over 900 new cases have been reported in the past 24 hours. That brings the cumulative number of infections to 671,669.
More than 604,000 people have recovered.
SA has a COVID-19 recovery rate of 90%. Worldwide, more than a million people have died from the virus.
Today’s #COVID19 figures include a statement refuting incorrect media reports which suggest that the Ministerial Advisory Committee on COVID-19 was disbanded irregularly.
