ANC to decide Khusela Diko and Bandile Masuku’s fate

More details about PPE (personal protective equipment) corruption in Gauteng will emerge this weekend.

The ANC’s PEC (provincial executive committee) is expected to meet to discuss the integrity committee’s report into Khusela Diko, Bandile Masuku and his wife, Loyiso.

They were investigated following allegations of a multi-million rand PPE tender awarded to Diko’s husband by the Gauteng Health Department.

Diko and Masuku appear to be facing a bleak future as the integrity committee’s report is said to contain adverse findings against them.

Masuku’s wife Loyiso, an MMC in the City of Johannesburg, is believed to be the only one set to survive the investigation.

Despite reports that the provincial integrity committee’s work is complete, the ANC in Gauteng is disputing this.

“The PEC of the ANC, contrary to the media reports that have been going around social networks and some media houses, will only be meeting this weekend. Part of the discussion that will take place is that if and only if, the integrity commission is finished with its report and it’s ready, it will be presented in the PEC meeting,” said provincial spokesperson Bones Modise.

Whatever the outcome of the provincial integrity committee’s report, all eyes will be on President Cyril Ramaphosa and the action he takes against his spokesperson as well as Masuku, one of Gauteng Premier David Makhura’s political allies.
