City of Joburg’s case to have Nana Farm shacks demolished postponed

The City of Johannesburg on Monday brought an urgent application to have more than 300 shacks in Nana Farm near Lenasia demolished.

The application was heard at the South Gauteng High Court.

Lawyers For Black People opposed the application on behalf of the community.

The matter has been postponed indefinitely.

The court also ruled that no structures should be demolished.
