Court expected to hear arguments in Norma Mngoma case

The North Gauteng High Court is expected to listen to arguments in the matter relating to the arrest of Norma Mngoma, the wife of former Finance Minister, Malusi Gigaba.

She was arrested in July on charges of malicious damage to property and crimen injuria, after damaging a Mercedes-Benz vehicle belonging to her husband’s friend.

Gigaba laid the charges against his wife. She now wants the court to set aside her arrest and or possible prosecution.
Mngoma made a brief appearance in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on Monday where her case was postponed to October.

In her court papers, Mngoma describes her husband as “serial philanderer” and that her actions followed extreme provocation.
