The Independent Police Investigative Directorate is investigating the death of three people in Umsinga, KwaZulu-Natal.
The incident took place in Phuphuma on Saturday morning.
A police officer accused of causing the deaths has been arrested.
The Ipid says it is still gathering more information about the incident.
