Norma Mngoma heads to High Court

Norma Mngoma is now heading to the Pretoria High Court. The wife of former minister Malusi Gigaba wants to challenge the constitutionality and validity of her arrest in July by the Hawks.

Mngoma made a brief appearance in the Pretoria magistrate’s court on Monday where her case was postponed to October.

In her court papers, Mngoma describes her husband as “serial philanderer” and that her actions followed extreme provocation. She’s facing charges of malicious damage to property and crimen injuria.

Her husband laid charges against her resulting in her arrest by the Hawks in July after she allegedly damaged a Mercedes G-Wagon. Once her case was called it was quickly postponed pending her application to the High Court.

Mngoma is expected to appear again in the High Court sitting in Pretoria to challenge the involvement of the Hawks in her case which she’s described as an abuse of power orchestrated to illegally obtain her devices.

She wants the High Court to declare her arrest unconstitutional and invalid.
