The much-anticipated release date for ‘Chasing The Sun”, a five-part documentary about the Springboks journey long before the World Cup, until their crowning as World Champions under the leadership of Siya Kolisi and Rassie Erasmus. The series will air on M-Net DStv channel 101, from Sunday the 4th of October 2020, at 6 pm.
AKA announced on his Instagram yesterday that he will have the honour of taking over the Springboks Instagram channel for the next four weeks to talk about Rugby and the making of the Chasing The Sun documentary.
AKA is a known sports enthusiast and patriot, it is no surprise that he would be the one to host our boys in green & gold. AKA will have a different guest every week and his first guest last night was Lukhanyo Am, the cool, calm and collected Springbok centre.
Gareth Whitaker, the co-executive producer of the documentary stressed the need to be authentic while making the film and was honoured to be part of the project while describing it as the greatest privilege of his life. He promised authenticity and rare insight into the Bok squad as they journeyed to the World Cup tournament.
Africa is a source of many great stories and it is our duty to tell these stories,” said Gideon Khobane, SuperSport chief executive and co-executive producer for “Chasing the Sun”. “It was a gamble making the decision so long in advance to film the team, but we bought into their vision and believed in their ambition. Their victory was a far better story than any scriptwriter could have dared imagine.

Supa Mega has been a busy man off-late, just recently he announced that he is ready to bless the country with his Bhovamania album. In a tweet, AKA said the project is complete and he just needs a release date. AKA even released a tracklist of the EP, which caught the interest of Tweeps because there is a track that seems like is dedicated to his long-time rival Cassper Nyovest.
“The project is complete. Mixed. Mastered. Everything. All that I need now is our release date,”
As much as fans were happy that Supa Mega would be the one hosting this Chasing The Sun series on Instagram, many were more interested in him actually announcing the release date for his album.
