Court to rule on Former Bosasa boss Angelo Agrizzi bail appeal

Former Bosasa boss Angelo Agrizzi is appealing a decision to deny him bail. His lawyers insist the Specialised Commercial Crimes court failed to consider his health condition.

Agrizzi is facing fraud and corruption charges. He is accused of bribing influential individuals, including Vincent Smith, the then chairperson of Parliament’s correctional services committee.
Agrizzi’s lawyers presented the court with a list of his chronic and acute medical conditions.

They say prison overcrowding poses a danger to his health and he is at high risk of contracting COVID-19.

The High Court in Johannesburg is expected to rule on the matter on Friday.
