South Africa’s influencer culture is growing bigger every day with some of the country’s top talent demanding up to R500, 000 for sponsored posts on Instagram. HopperHQ released its Instagram Rich List and revealed exactly how much celebrities and influencers make.
Kylie Jenner, who has 141-million followers, earns a jaw-dropping $1,2 million (over R18-million) per sponsored post.
Beauty influencer Huda Beauty requests $91,300 (R1,3 million) for an ad, model Bella Hadid demands $86,300 (around R1,2 million) and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo earns $975,000 (over R13 million). Beauty vlogger Mihlali Ndamase and supermodel Candice Swanepoel were the only local stars to make the list.
Mihlali came in 17th in the beauty category. She charges around R25 000 for a sponsored post.
The 23-year-old hinted that the amount was only a “fraction” of what she really makes. Candice, who ranked fourth in the fashion category, earns as much as R650 000).
But they aren’t the only Mzansi stars coining it on social media.
Lerato Kganyago earns R500 000 to promote a brand.
“If I’m holding a product in pics, know they’ve put at least half a [million] in my account!” she tweeted in July 2017.
Minnie Dlamini also charges big bucks for social media posts.
Back in 2016, she earned around R25 000 to endorse a product on one of her social media accounts.
Her following has grown since then and she likely charges way more in 2019.
