Deaths due to the novel coronavirus have surpassed 17,000. The health department recorded 926 cases in the last 24 hours.
The death toll now stands at 17,016 after 40 more people died of COVID-19.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 682,215. Recoveries now stand at 615,684 which translates to a recovery rate of 90 per cent.
