Sexually transmitted infections (STI), also known as sexually transmitted diseases (STD) are common and they come through having vaginal, oral, or anal sex. One of the reasons many people don’t know they’re infected is that many STDs don’t have any symptoms. You can be infected with an STD for years without knowing it.
Condoms, when properly used, are highly effective for reducing transmission of some STDs. But no method is fool proof, and STI symptoms aren’t always obvious.
