The number of new COVID-19 cases has spiked to nearly 3,000.
The health department reported 2,888 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of infections to more than 750,000.
The department said 123 more people have died, taking the death toll to and over 20,500.

The recovery rate stands at 92.6 percent, with over 35,500 active cases.
