Grade 12 Limpopo learner stabbed to death

A 21-year-old Grade 12 learner has been stabbed and killed at Marapong township in Lephalale, Limpopo. Police say the learner and his cousin were walking past a tavern when two men aged 29 accused them of stealing a cellphone and attacked them.

Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says, “Police in Lephalale have arrested two suspects for murder, attempted murder and assault GBH following the incident that occurred last night at Marapong after the deceased and his cousin were allegedly attacked with various objects by suspects over a stolen cellphone.

In the process the deceased’s father was also knocked down with a motor vehicles of one of the suspects. The deceased who is a grade twelve student at Tielelo high school will be identified after the next of kin are informed,” explains Ngoepe.
