The Health Department reported 110 more COVID-19 related deaths, taking South Africa’s death toll to 49,523. The department has also recorded 1,862 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
SA’s COVID-19 recoveries are at 1,422,622, reflecting a recovery rate of 94 percent. Meanwhile, the next batch of 80,000 Johnson & Johnson vaccines is expected on Saturday.
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize made the announcement during a Parliamentary debate on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
