Norma Mngoma will be taking legal action against the Hawks after the High Court in Pretoria ruled that her arrest was unlawful and that the crime-fighting unit abused its power.
The estranged wife of former Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba appeared in court where her lawyers stated that they wanted the case against her dropped and charges, withdrawn.
Representations will now be made to the National Director of Public Prosecutions. Mngoma will be back in court on 26 March.
