Prince Ahlangene Sigcau has officially been named the new king of AmaXhosa.
He takes over from his late brother, King Mpendulo Sigcua who died in 2019.
When he initially ascended the throne, after his brother’s passing, this was disputed but now he’s recognised by government as the King of AmaXhosa.
Due to other commitments in Malawi, he was unable to attend a press briefing where he was proclaimed king.
