SA records 1,404 new COVID-19 cases, 96 deaths

It’s been a year since the first COVID-19 case was recorded in the country.

The number of new infections has increased by 1,404. This brings the total number of recorded cases to 1,517,666. The death toll has increased by 96 to 50,462.

Covid-19 cases continue to decline

Recoveries now stand at just over 1.4 million with more than nine million tests conducted so far.

The number of vaccinated health care workers under the Sisonke Protocol stands at just over 92,000 as of Thursday evening.  Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
