Police bosses must put their differences aside and focus on serving the people.
That’s the opinion of some analysts who’ve weighed in on the continuing butting of heads between Police Minister Bheki Cele and National Police Commissioner Khehla Sitole.
Cele has reportedly asked President Cyril Ramaphosa to intervene as tensions between the two have been simmering for a while.
What this fallout means for the rank and file and effective policing is not yet clear.
Policing expert Eldred de Klerk says the issue of interference, among other issues, could lead to problems for the top cops.
