The Department of Health reported 2,191 new COVID-19 cases.
A total of 37 more deaths takes South Africa’s COVID-19 death toll to 54,724.
SA’s recovery rate remains stable at 95%.
Meanwhile, the department also confirmed that the variant dominant in India has been detected in South Africa.
