South Africa is seeing an increase in the number of new COVID-19 infections.
The Health Department reported 2,759 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
However, the department says SA is not yet experiencing a third wave of infections.
A total of 72 more confirmed deaths takes the COVID-19 death toll to 54,968
The recovery rate remains at 95 percent.
So far, 430,730 health workers are vaccinated.
