As the cold front persists, more cold weather is expected to sweep across the country.
Senior Forecaster from the South African Weather Service Puseletso Mofokeng says temperatures in Johannesburg will range between minus 1 and 15 degrees Celsius today.
He says temperatures will remain below freezing in many areas.
At the same time, weather conditions in the Western and Eastern Cape are starting to cool down.
“We are still going to see some areas having temperatures below freezing point. More generally areas like Free State, Eastern Cape, and Northern Cape could see temperatures somewhere between -3 and -5 in the morning. We are still expecting some frost patches. In Johannesburg, temperatures will reach -1 but later during the day, we are expecting a maximum of about 15. Much of the country will also be cold,” said Mofokeng.
