Gauteng authorities are intensifying their efforts to monitor those who try to leave the province illegally.
Police are deploying several roadblocks during the first weekend of adjusted lockdown Level 4.
Last week President Cyril Ramaphosa reimposed restrictions for two weeks to combat a surge in the highly contagious coronavirus Delta variant.
Meanwhile, 24,270 new COVID-19 infections have been reported in the last 24-hours.
Gauteng accounts for over 14,000 of them.
