An Eastern Cape community is blaming the Kouga local municipality for the deaths of at least two children.
Residents of Ocean View Informal Settlement in Jeffreys Bay say they have been neglected for 20 years.
And have no municipal services.
They are, therefore, connecting to power cables illegally.
A 5-year-old was electrocuted in November last year, and a nine-year-old earlier this year.
The municipality is distancing itself from the deaths.
It says when the illegal connections are disconnected, the community simply reconnects the cables themselves.
