The Health Department said 6,270 new COVID-19 cases and 175 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
The Western Cape has recorded 1,479 infections and KwaZulu-Natal has 1,223 cases.
Cases in the Eastern Cape also remain high, with 1,117 new cases reported.
More than 52,400 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours, with a 12 percent positivity rate.

Uzalo actress Gugu Gumede has reportedly taken a break from the telenovela after her mother, National Freedom Party (NFP) leader Zanele KaMagwaza-Msibi, died on Monday.

KaMagwaza-Msibi died of cardiac arrest linked to Covid-19 after being admitted to Umhlanga Hospital in Durban two weeks ago. She had suffered a major stroke in 2014, that placed her in a coma for a few days and affected her speech. Learn More
