83 nominations later: Jay Z becomes most Grammy-nominated artist of all time

Rapper-producer Jay-Z has become the most-nominated artiste in Grammy Awards history.

He was nominated 3 times at his year’s Grammy nominations, pushing him to 83.

He had previously been tied with legendary producer/composer Quincy Jones at 80.

Though Jay did not put out an album this year, he was nominated three times for his work on Kanye West’s album “Donda,” and DMX’s song “Bath Salts.”

Jay-Z, who helped to jumpstart West’s career, made an unexpected appearance on the song “Jail,” the rappers’ first collaboration since their 2011 album Watch The Throne.
