Amapiano musician Pabi Cooper was trending the whole weekend after a s.e.xtape of a person looking like her was released.
People on Facebook and Twitter have been asking the Isiphithiphiti hitmaker if the person on the tape really is her.
However, she hasn’t responded to any of the questions by her fans.
Some were claiming it was a marketing strategy because she dropped her song titled Thanda Kanjani featuring DJ Maphorisa, Zuma, and Reece Madlisa on Friday, 19 November and the tape started being circulated on the previous day.
“The rumours of Pabi having a s.e.x tape coming just hours before her music release. I know a marketing strategy when I see one,” tweeted Bekithemba Zulu.
However, Pabi’s manager Palesa Ngoasheng rubbished those rumours and said that was not Pabi on the tape.
“It’s a lie and that’s not Pabi.”
She also said Pabi didn’t need a strategy to push her music, because her fanbase was strong.
“This was also not a strategy to push the song. We didn’t need a strategy as Pabi’s fans pushed the song. The song has been transient for months and begging her to drop, that’s why we finally gave the people what they want.”
