Moonchild Sanelly celebrates birthday with a twerk!ng video

Sanelly is well-known for her unique signature, which is her blue hair, as well as her self-created music genre, Future ghetto punk. Her diverse style has led her to travel and tour several nations on promotional tours. Moonchild is her stage name, and it originates from her spiritual upbringing. The name is derived from the word ‘iNyanga,’ which means moon.’

She originally attracted prominence during a poetry competition in Durban. This publicity catapulted her into the music industry. She eventually relocated to Johannesburg to pursue her career.

As we wish her a happy birthday today, here are some of her highlights that we all would enjoy looking back at.

A while back Somizi posted a video of himself and Moochild Sanelly at the airport. Moonchild can be seen twerking in the video while Somizi is busy hyping her up. Somizi proclaimed that he is straight at the end of the video.

Pearl Thusi, host of BET’s Behind The Story, met with outspoken musician Moonchild Sannelly in an episode of the show.

Moonchild, who is frequently the target of online harassment, told Pearl that she doesn’t let it bother her because she converts her emotions into music. She said, wiping something from her eye, that she doesn’t cry.

Moonchild Sanelly, arguably one of South Africa’s most influential and underappreciated musicians, continues to secure her bag and live her life unaffected by the attention she receives from other ZAlebs.

Moonchild Sanelly appears on a song she wrote with the famous band, ‘With Love To An Ex,’ and her record company chose to show her some love when they announced the release of the Gorillaz album.

The song has a calm tone to it, with Moonchild’s normal filthy lyrics mixed in with Gorillaz’s signature sound.

Moonchild Sanelly was furious a few months ago when her tune Askies featuring Jazz Disciples was withdrawn from Mzansi radio stations’ playlists.

The jazzy song was a smash with many music fans in Mzansi, particularly females since Moonchild’s verse ignited a wave of body positivity.

Moonchild’s verse freely discussed thunder thighs, large butts, and big bo*bs, posing a challenge to women who wanted to flaunt their big assets.

Moonchild posted a two-part video on Twitter expressing her dissatisfaction with the song’s removal from the radio playlist, which generated conflicting comments.

The singer said in her video, “How many women are objectified by males in songs and are played on the radio, but are not played on the radio?” and questioned why a song that praises body positivity from a woman gets taken off the radio.

The musician has her sights set on worldwide dominance, and she’s ready to take on the world one day at a time. The ‘Iwalk Ye Phara’ singer, who appears in Beyonce’s international hit film and visual album Black Is King, is still overcome with joy at being a part of this production that has made history and catapulted Mzansi’s talents.

Nandi Madida, Connie Chiume, Busiswa, Nyaniso Dzedze, and Warren Masemola are among the local actors who appear in the film, which was released at the end of July.

The musician spoke with ZAlebs about her partnership with Beyonce and her blossoming music career, which continues to draw international recognition.

The actress revealed that she had no idea what her vocals and ad lips will be utilized for when she started working on the film’s theme song “It was a low-key endeavor. I kept emailing songs back and forth, and when they arrived, I couldn’t identify Beyonce’s voice, but I knew it was a big production, and I knew Kwasi worked for her “she explains.
