Jannie Moolman (born in KwaZulu-Natal) is a South African singer. He sings opera and Afrikaans songs and is popular for being a celebrity coach on Supersterre (season 3).
After obtaining a degree from a prestigious university, he kicked off his opera career. He is known to many for being the brain behind several hits.
As a presenter, Moolman appeared on the television program titled Kom ons Karaoke. It aired on the Afrikaans television channel kykNET.

Early Life
Jannie Moolman was born in the coastal province of South African – Kwazulu Natal. In 1990, he officially started his career in opera.
Education
He attended the University of the Free State and graduated with a degree in Communication.
Career
Two years into his opera career, he started as a soloist at the Pretoria State Theatre in 1992. There he made several appearances in stage productions.
Jannie Moolman made his first appearance in Cape Town in The Count Of Luxembourg in 1994. In the opera, he played the role of Rene and since then he has appeared in other operas.
Some of his opera credits include Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Pinkerton (Madam Butterfly) and Don José (Carmen). He dropped his first solo album – Jannie Moolman (2003). The album was a blend of opera with lighter music.
He dropped another album two years later and gave it the title Hoeveld Kleure (Highveld Colors) in 2007. After another two years, in 2007, he dropped another album Ek Kom Huistoe (I Come Home).
As a singer, Jannie Moolman was active in the group Ons Eie Drie Tenore (Our Own Three Tenors). He has also had collaborations with other Afrikaans singers including Ruda Hugo.
They collaborated in the stage production Ge Korsten: Hoor My Lied (Hear My Song) at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival. Jannie has also made an appearance in other musical productions like Klassieke Pelle. Janice Honeyman is the writer behind the production.
He entered the Marsala International Singing competition Sangkompetisie in Italy. He completed the competition and emerged as second.
Moolman finished third in the Belvedere International Singing Competition in Wenen.

Personal Life
Moolman was married to Annake de Villiers until their divorce in 2010. His ex-wife was a violinist, she died after committing suicide two years after the divorce in 2012.

The State Theatre/SAA Opera Foundation Award (1993). An FNB Vita Life Award for the Best Performance by a Male Singer (1997).
An FNB Vita Life Award for his portrayal of Dominee Venter in Roelof Temmingh’s Buchuland (1998). In 1999 he also an FNB Vita Life Award for his performance as Prince Karl Franz in The Student Price.
