‘Squid Game’ star O Yeong-su becomes first Korean to win a Golden Globe

The Golden Globe Awards held on Sunday 9 January saw MJ Rodriguez become the first transgender actress to win the prestigious award. Squid Game actor O Yeong-su also made history at the untelevised awards show as the first Korean actor to win a Golden Globe. 

O YEONG-SU MAKES HISTORY 

O Yeong-su has been in the entertainment industry since 1967. The 77-year-old actor has appeared in more than 15 theatre productions, television shows and films over the past 50 years. 

On Sunday 9 January, the actor won the award for Best Supporting Role in a Series, Miniseries or Motion PIcture Made for Television at the Golden Globe Awards.
